About R. Schneider Stamps
I started as a part-time dealer specializing in German stamps when I was an Army officer serving in Germany in 1974. Because of frequent military moves, the only way to do business then was via the post. The first price lists mailed in 1975 — and they have gone out monthly ever since.
As the business expanded, family members helped with the workload. My daughter Jill has stayed with the business and will continue it.
I retired from the military in 1989 and converted from part-time to full-time dealer. We expanded inventory across the four areas we now stock and assembled one of the very best German-area stocks in the United States.
Stock was originally sorted into stock books for mail-order want lists. Rearranging hundreds of books for stamp shows was not practical, so selling stayed with price lists and want-list fills. A website followed in 2004; web sales are now about triple price-list sales.
After 50+ years we remain members of the recognized philatelic organizations in our areas. Our objective is a complete inventory and customers who stay happy — beginners through advanced specialists.
