As summer approaches we are thankful for a truly exceptional spring. We have had consistently mild temperatures and much more needed rain than usual. We had one bad hail storm – which netted us a new roof – but missed the violent weather surrounding us. Our vegetable garden produce tomatoes, peppers and green beans before the end of the month. (I still get a kick out of having some success at growing things.)

Deutschland -Spezial 2024

We received this year’s two catalogs. They are essentially reprints previous year’s catalogs with no added information and very, very few price changes. Vol II which covers post WWII issues has almost no changes of any kind with the exception of listing new issues through February 2024.

We skipped buying vol I last year so we compared this year’s catalog to the 2022 edition. We were able to find a few price changes this year.
Mint hinged and never hinged early Bavaria issues show a few significant increases here and there.

MI 23x ** was 200 Euro is now 500 Euro.

MI 24x * was 225 Euro now 300 Euro
MI 47-53** was 800 Euro now 1100 Euro

Early Deutches Reich shows an occasional small price for ** items here and there.

Zussammendrucke issues shows many price changes throughout. Most changes are large decreases in mint hinged prices – many as much as 50%. ** and U prices were largely unchanged except for a few increases .

Prices for the remainder of Vol I listings remain unchanged.

If you have a specialized catalogs printed in the past 7-10 years there is little reason to buy a new one. We buy our Michel catalogs now at www.schaubek.de/MICHEL-catalogues-Europe (The .
Michel publishing company)

The ordering process is easy and one can pay via Paypal.

Our Treasure Boxes

We continue to offer these boxes – almost every customer who has tried one box has ordered another. We have quite a supply of treasure box material – excess stock, areas we don’t normally stock, and just plain stamps we don’t have time to examine. We always insure that there are stamps of value included in the boxes but otherwise don’t check anything. There of course will be a lot German and Austrian related stamps and covers in the lots but there can be almost anything philatelic. These lots are designed for collectors who like to search through lots of philatelic items. Each $175 lot is different from the others and each will fill a medium priority box.

We have been selling a lot of our treasure boxes because the large volume of stamps and covers gives collectors a lot of pleasure searching through the pile. We have plenty of boxes on hand and ready to mail!

Our Online Specials

We offer specials on our web site regularly. For some reason we sell fewer of these than we expected to sell. It seems that our web site customers just don’t notice the special listings. We think this is happening because we frequently get orders for items in the regular listings which are also offered in the specials section at a lower price.

We also list items in the special sections which don’t quite fit into our regular categories – e.g. mini-collections and unusual varieties.
