Our first winter like day occurred 30 November with a high of 40 degrees and a low of 28 but not quite cold enough to kill most of our summer plants. That may come in a couple of days. This has been the nicest year weather wise since we moved to Texas eight years ago. Winter was not as cold and summer not as hot as normal and we had more rain than normal. We like, many other areas in the US, have experienced climate change. The most notable changes are more needed rain and milder winters. We can’t complain here.

Our business activities have continued to center on our web site.  Most of our sales are initiated on the web site although we also fill more want lists now than we used to. We still have price lists but they don’t get updated as often as would like – just not enough hours in the day.

We are updating our Austria listings now – adding a lot of new items and revising prices – mostly downward. We will have most of our Austria updates completed before Christmas.

We completed revised our Austria listings of post WWII locals and have a good selection of these hard to find issues.

We will continue to add new items throughout of listings too.

OVERSEAS AUCTIONS

I buy at auctions all over the world seeking new material for our customers. Auction houses are excellent sources for collections and better singles and sets. Overseas auctions can also be an expensive way to buy – especially since our government has enacted a myriad of tariff increases accompanied by many overseas transaction changes resulting in the movement of purchases much slower and uncertain. We have received some acquisitions more than 60 days after we paid for them. Most Overseas auction have made changes in their shipping procedures all of which increase the buyer’s costs.

European Postal Services use commercial shipping services to ship parcels and a couple serviceswe use still have suspended shipments until they can figure out how to deal with the US changes.

BUYING NEEDS

We buy a lot of collections from customers who reach time. We have bought hundreds of collections from our past customers over the years. As a result we tend to need only collections with more advanced material. If we can’t use your collection we will advise you on the best ways for you to sell your collection.

Periodically we list the areas that we particularly need to buy. These are we need the most .

Deutsches Reich SC 1 through 51 *, ** and also Michel listed varieties **, * and used from 1850 issues through 1923 issues.
