January was another very busy month for our stamp business. That’s good for there was little else to do as everything around here is closed! After spending more and more time with our stamp business we ought to be getting caught up. Unfortunately it’s not happening. Our web site requires more time to keep up to date and we keep trying!
Our physical travails continue – my arm is not healing properly and my surgeon wants to operate. I will do so grudgingly but am postponing until I get the covid vaccine – which might take a long while. Then after cautioning me not to fall again, Jill fell and broke her right wrist. She is tougher than I but it is still hard to get her work done with her
right hand in a cast.
This month we updated our German offices and colonies list Part I which includes the offices and colonies through the Caroline Islands.
Next month we will update our German states list part I Bavaria though Hanover.
We are also updating our web site continuously – adding new items and removing sold out items. As we now spend more time maintaining our web site, the items listed are being changed constantly. We are also adding more pictures for the items that require them – nevertheless we continue to fight the gremlins which insert the wrong images!
Postal problems
During the past two months we have noticed a surge in the number of postal delivery delays. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern in the delays – nearby addressees and distant ones have mail delays of up to two weeks. The good news is that the mailings almost always eventually arrive.

We have been using these abbreviations for nearly 50 years and forget that some of our customers are unfamiliar with all of them. (We can tell from all the questions we receive.) We used to list all of abbreviations on the first page of each price list but have stopped doing this to save space. Here is a listing of most of those abbreviations.
